Who We Are
Who We Are
Prince George Christian Church in Prince George, Virginia doesn't "play Church." We are a family welcoming new members constantly. We continually dive deeper into the ancient language and culture in which the Bible was written and make it practical for our everyday lives on Sunday mornings, Wednesday at 6:30 PM, and Sunday School at 9:45 every week. Our children and youth are our greatest treasures. We have a preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds.
We hold fundraisers, selling homemade Brunswick stew and pumpkin rolls all in the fall. Every year, the congregation of Prince George Christian Church (PGCC) works together to create enough Brunswick Stew to fill a 1,000-gallon pot for the community. A seasonal favorite tradition is the baking of Pumpkin Rolls to sell during the holidays.
The Pastor will also host a trip to the Lands of the Bible, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Greece, along with a cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey with those who desire to walk in the steps of Jesus, Moses, and the Apostle Paul. Contact us today to join us!

A Brief History
A Brief History
Prince George Christian Church came into existence in 1958, meeting initially in the old Prince George School Building. In 1963, ground was broken for the original church building, which now serves as Sunday School, Classrooms, Preschool rooms, and the office. Our current sanctuary and fellowship hall were erected in 2003.
Founded as part of the United Church of Christ, PGCC’s conservative, Bible-centered beliefs necessitated a change to an independent, non-denominational Church in 1993, under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Marburger.

Reverend Heidi Rene’ Grueser, is an Ordained Pastor with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. She graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana with a B.S. in Christian Education. They are truly a family put together by God’s artistic fingers.
In December of 2006, Heidi and Charli Su’ moved to Pine Island, Florida. She worked as the Family Minister at Pine Island United Methodist Church. Through a series of beautiful events in January 2008, God spoke to her about starting a church. It was through these dialogs with God that she stepped out in faith and started Pine Island Community Church.

The first service was held on September 21st (during the 1950s) with 46 people. A year later, it was decided to raise peanuts in order to buy property for a sanctuary. Two members donated 15 acres, the land was plowed, planted, and cultivated. During this process, church activities were held in an old school house until 1963 when the peanuts and various fundraisers succeeded in buying the current property for $4,500.
The first service in the new church happened on July 28, 1963. Today, the church family continues to be a beacon in the community, worshiping and giving to the people

Church Mission Statement
Church Mission Statement
We affirm that the mission of Prince George Christian Church is to spread the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ by word and deed to the lost and despairing humanity. We are sent into the world as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), to glorify God in every area of our lives, and to bring all peoples into submission to the Lordship of Christ, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. We seek to obey this commission in the full assurance that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is with us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19,20). In obedience to this commission, Prince George Christian Church will maintain public worship and provide religious instruction according to the Scriptures (“Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ.” Colossians 1:28). Further, we will seek to exercise Christian care for one another (“God has so composed the body…that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” 1 Corinthians 12:24b-26).

Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
We believe in one, holy, eternal God (“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord;” Deuteronomy 6:4). This God has revealed Himself in many ways, but most clearly through the Written Word of the Holy Bible (“In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets;” Hebrews 1:1) and in the person of Jesus Christ (“… but in these last days He has spoken to us by a Son…He [this Son] reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of His nature” Hebrews 1:2a, 3a; “He [this Son] is the image of the invisible God” Colossians 1:15a).
We believe the Word of God as recorded in the Old and New Testaments is infallible, and is sufficient rule and guide for living a Christian life (“All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe that mankind is of sinful nature, (“The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any that act wisely, that seek after God. They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none that does good, no not one.” Psalm 14:2,3), separated from God by this sin, (“…your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you so that He does not hear.” Isaiah 59:2), and in need bf being reconciled to God (“since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by His grace as a gift through the redemption which is in Jesus Christ” Romans 3:23, 24).
We believe that Jesus Christ the Righteous, is He, who makes this reconciliation possible (“All this is from God, Who through Christ reconciled us to Himself…that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them…” 2 Corinthians 5:18,19; “For there is one God, and there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ…” 1 Timothy 2:5), and that there is no other way by which we can be made right with God (“Jesus said ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me.’” John 14:6; “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12).
We believe in the necessity of each individual entering into a personal relationship with God through faith n Jesus Christ, (“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God – no because of works least any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9); for although we are all God’s creations, it is only through this personal faith relationship that we can become children of God (“…to all who received Him [Jesus Christ], who believed in His name, He gave power to become children of God.” John 1:12).
We believe that our response to this free gift of salvation is to make Jesus Christ the Lord of our lives, following Him in all we do, reading His Word, and worshiping Him in order to become His disciples (“Jesus then said…’I you continue in My Word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” John 8:31,32; “I am the vine and you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5; “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good, and acceptable, and perfect.” Romans 12:12).
We believe that it is God’s Holy Spirit (who is given to all believers) (“And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Or the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to Him.’” Acts 2:38,39; “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12 “By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us His own Spirit.” 1 John 4:13) who guides us into these truths – indeed into all truth – and who comforts and empowers us for our ministry (“I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth…” John 14:1617a; “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth;” John 16:13a; “Now to Him Who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think: Ephesians 3:20; see also John 14:18-31).
We believe what the Bible says about marriage is clear, definitive, and unchanging. We affirm Biblical, traditional, natural marriage as the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The Scripture’s teaching on marriage is not negotiable. “But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Mark 10:6-9). Jesus later said: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Mark 13:31).
